On February 26, 2016 Lloyd Reid was interviewed by Global News during black history month discussing his legacy and success here in Canada after immigrating from Jamaica . Lloyd's Pattys soared to success despite being one of the very few black individuals in Calgary in 1984 and battling against traditional take out places in Canada.
It has now been thirty six years since Lloyd began producing patties and Lloyd's product continues to be successful throughout Calgary region. Lloyd has negotiated long-term contracts with some of Calgary's biggest establishments,such as: Sobeys,Macs, Second Cup, Co-op, and Calgary Universities,while successfully running Lloyd's Patty Plus Cuisine.
